Relief made of plastic
05.04.2023
The final work from last year’s Biennale of Design and Urban Art is Malwina Konopacka’s & Jacek Walesiak’s relief created from recycled plastic. The work was made using Traffic Design’s sheetpress – a fresh addition to our workshop. The authors set out to create a replicable element, something like a mosaic that can be placed in public space. The final effect refers to Poland's 90's aesthetic, dominated by the baum cube – a concrete paving block that flooded the country, and the excessive use of plastic. The piece also included two abstract works hung closely together to form a contemplative artwork.
